This arrangement will show you the City of Worms from its best side. First there is the guided tour ‘Two Millennia On Foot’, which gives you an impression of the long and chequered history of the city where kings and princes held their assemblies, and leads you to the Luther memorial, the Jewish cemetery and, of course, to St Peter’s Cathedral, the crown of the city. After that, you immerse yourself in the Nibelungenlied, the most famous of German epics from the Middle Ages. Discover the fascinating world of modern and classical myths in the Myth Lab. Your day will be polished off with a three-course menu in a typical local restaurant. Treat yourself and try the different bottom- and top-fermented beers and end your meal with a delicious schnapps. Before and afterwards, the Nibelungen tourist train takes you on a cosy ride through the city. Alternatively, you can take part in a professional winetasting in the historic vaulted cellar of St Andrews’ chapter, which holds the excellent red and white wines of Rheinhessen, and savour a decent local snack.
