It is not just tourists who enjoy walking along the Rhine promenade in Worms – the banks of the Rhine by the Festplatz fairgrounds are a magnet for locals as well. With the Hagen statue, water-gauge tower, places to visit and eat, a playground, a marina and flower-filled green spaces, this is a wonderful place to stroll and relax.
Worms has three wonderful facilities where visitors can cool off, swim lengths, keep fit and unwind.
The biggest swimming pool in the city is the Heinrich-Völker-Bad next to the EWR Arena (Wormatia Stadium) on Alzeyer Strasse. As well as an indoor pool with fun pools, massage benches, a whirlpool and a relaxation zone. In the summer months, the outdoor pool offers lots of play features, a beach volleyball pitch, a playground and a spacious sunbathing area.
The Paternusbad outdoor pool is situated in the beautiful district of Pfeddersheim and has swimming and non-swimming areas, a toddler pool, a boules court and pleasant sunbathing area for relaxing.

Worms zoological garden is idyllically situated in the middle of the Bürgerweide recreation area between the historic Worms city centre, the ‘Wäldchen’ park and the beautiful Rhine. It is home to over 400 animals, representing over 80 species.
