We have put together a special programme to help you discover the diverse aspects of Jewish history along the Rhine. You can choose to start in either Worms or Speyer without missing a thing.
As well as staying for two nights in a comfortable 3-star (***) hotel in Worms, you will go on two guided city tours covering Jewish history. They include a visit to Europe’s oldest Jewish cemetery, in Worms, and the 12th-century Jewish ritual bath in Speyer. Raschi-Haus in Worms – named after the mediaeval scholar Raschi von Troyes, who studied at the Worms Lehrhaus – houses a Jewish museum. In Mainz you get to know forgotten and new places of Jewish faith. The ShUM cities, the Jewish communities and the government of Rhineland-Palatinate jointly endeavour to nominate these sites to be added to the UNESCO world heritage list.
