Worms – "Luther and the Reformation"
"Here I stand, I can do no other, so help me God. Amen." The Augustinian monk Martin Luther spoke these – or similar – famous words to King Charles V at the 1521 Diet of Worms, thus refusing to recant his writings.
Today you can read these words inscribed on the Luther Monument to the Reformation, which was completed in 1868. Constructed almost like a stage, the Luther Monument retraces the background, the events and the consequences of the Reformation.
Take a tour of the city accompanied by a qualified guide to experience the Reformation age at first hand.
